Easy Pizzas with your Littles!

DIY pizza with your littles for a fun night!

By Stephanie Valadez September 6, 2022

Ever since my 2.5 year old son discovered pizza, that is now his most requested meal (right after quesadillas LOL). He will ask for pizza every week. How can I possibly blame him- gooey warm cheese, pepperoni, flaky crust-what more can we ask for?

So I decided to host a pizza night at my parents house for my nieces and nephews alongside my son, after I got inspired from a video I saw of a mom making a DIY pizza for her sons lunch! We all loved it so much and the kids had a blast, so I figured I would share it with you all!

Let's start with the shopping list:

  • Crust
    • I've seen it done with flatbread, cauliflower crust, or even tortillas. Or you can even go the extra mile and get pre-made dough to knead yourself! We went with Rustic Crust Italian Herb Pizza Crust I found at Sprouts. Which was a perfect personal size for littles!
  • Cheese
    • Another item you have multiple routes to go with. You can stick with the classic mozzarella, use multiple cheeses, or go fancy and even use ricotta! Options are endless. We however, stick with the classic mozzarella cheese.
  • Sauce
    • We like classic pizza in our home, so we stuck with organic marinara. If you or your kids are more adventurous you can use pesto sauce, white sauce, or go with no sauce!
  • Toppings
    • The fun part! Our kids like the classic toppings, of course. So I stuck with pepperoni and pineapple.

Once everyone is settled, preheat your oven to 375 degrees while the kids get started on creating their pizza. If you have cookie sheets, place the crust on it. Have your kids spread their sauce, add their cheese, and toppings if they wish!

My son, of course, was the one who ate as he worked on his toppings! LOL. Once, all done creating, place inside the oven. Time depends on your crust choice. Since we got ultra thin crust, it cooked in about 8-10 minutes! Then, you are all done and your kids can enjoy eating their own personal pizza!

(*note: since the oven is already on, might as well stick some cookie dough in there for dessert ;-)*)

I hope you all enjoy this fast and easy recipe, and get inspired to get your littles in the kitchen with you! If you end up having a DIY pizza night with your families, go ahead and tag us on your social media! We would love to see what you all create.
